Adding a Filter Rule

You add a filter rule when you create a new filter or when you require additional rules for an existing filter.

To add a filter rule, follow these steps:

1. If you haven't done so, read filters from a source.
   

2. From the Source pulldown list, select a PortMaster product on which a filter resides.
   
3. From the Filter pulldown list, select a filter to which you want to add a rule.
   
4. From the Rule Type pulldown list, select a rule type.
   
5. Click Add.
   
6. Edit the filter rule by using options at the bottom of the FilterEditor panel. For more information, see the settings for the following filter rule types:
   IP Rules
   IPX Rules
   SAP Rules
   
7. Click Apply Changes to make changes take effect.
