Cloning a Filter

You clone a filter when you want to create a filter on a source that is similar to one that exists but you want to changes some of the rules without duplicating the entire filter.

To clone a filter follow these steps:

1. If you haven't done so, read filters from a source.
   

2. From the Source pulldown list, select a PortMaster product on which a filter resides.
   
3. From the Filter list, select the filter that you want to clone.
   
4. From the Filters menu, select "Clone Filter..."
   
   A filter window appears.
   
   
5. Type a name of up to 12 characters for the filter.
   
6. Click OK.
   
7. Edit or add filter rules.
