Editing Filter Rules

You edit a filter rule when you create a new filter or when you want to change the rules on an existing packet filter.

To edit a filter rule, follow these steps:

1. If you haven't done so, read filters from a source.
   

2. From the Source pulldown list, select a PortMaster product on which a filter resides.
   
3. From the Filter list, select the filter in which you want to edit rules.
   
4. From the Rule Type list, select a rule type.
   
5. From the rule list, select the filter rule you want to edit.
   
   The configuration of the filter rule appears in the editor at the bottom of the panel.
   
   
6. Use the fields in the lower portion of the FilterEditor to edit the filter rule. For More information, see the settings for the following filter rule types:
   IP Rules
   IPX Rules
   SAP Rules
   
7. Click Apply Changes to make the changes take effect.
