Exporting Filters to a Configuration File

You export filters to a configuration file when you want to save them to another file instead of the original source. This is also a way of backing up your filters. To export filters to a configuration file, follow these steps:

1. If you haven't done so, read filters from a source.
   

2. From the Source pulldown list, select a PortMaster product on which a filter resides.
   
3. From the File menu, select "Export Filters to File..."
   
   A filter selection window appears.
   
   
4. From the Filter pulldown list, select one or more filters.
   
5. Click OK.
   
   A file selection window appears.
   
   
6. Select or specify a configuration file.
   
7. Click Save.
