Renaming a Filter

You rename a filter when you copy a from one source and want to apply it to another, or when you clone a filter that you want to use on the same source. You cannot have two filters with the same name on a source.

To rename a filter, follow these steps:

  1. If you haven't done so, read a filter from a source.

  2. From the Source pulldown list, select a PortMaster product on which a filter resides.
  3. From the Filter list, select the filter you want to rename.
  4. From the Filters menu, select "Rename Filter..."

    A filter name window appears.

  5. Type a new name of up to 12 characters for the filter.
  6. Click OK.
