SAP Rules

The following settings set define the filtering rules for SAP packets:

Rule setting

Description

Select rule action

Permit permits a SAP packet that matches the filter to pass through the interface.

Deny stops a SAP packet that matches the filter from passing through the interface.

Server Name

Specifies the comparison with the name of the server that is advertising its service.

Network

Specifies the comparison with the server's IPX network number.

Host

Specifies the comparison with the server's IPX node address.

Socket

Specifies that the server's IPX socket number must be compared with the IPX socket number specified in the filter. The mode of comparison is indicated with equal to (=), greater than (<), or less than (>).
