This</a> guide is designed to provide you with the information needed to install the PortMaster Internetwork Router (IRX). Specific information about using the PMconsole user interface to configure the IRX can be found in the <em>PMconsole Administrator's Guide</em> for your interface. Refer to <a href="preface.doc.html#54">"Related Documentation</a>" for more information about Livingston documentation. <p>

This guide is designed to be used by qualified system administrators and network managers. Knowledge of basic networking concepts is required to successfully install the IRX. </a>

The PMconsole user interface can be used to configure the IRX. PMconsole comes in several versions including: PMconsole for Windows, PMconsole for X Windows, PMconsole ASCII terminal, and the command prompt interface. Each interface has its own <em>PMconsole Administrator's Guide.</em> Use the guide that is appropriate for your chosen interface.</a><p>
