BEFORE YOU TURN IT ON!!!

Remove the screw on the back and remove the cover. Make sure the
daughter card is properly seated. The serial port card has a tendancy
to POP OUT in shipping. Replace the cover.
----------------------------------------------------------------
1. Get a terminal or a PC with term software. Set it to 9600-N-8-1

2. Get a null modem cable. Radio Shack sells them or you can make
one with the following minimum pin configuration:

	DB25-F DB25-F
	2	-	3
	3	-	2
	7	-	7
	8	-	20
	20	-	8

3. Connect it to port S0. Make sure that DIP SWITCH 1 is up putting
the port in CONSOLE mode (9600 bps n-8-1, xon/xoff flow control).

4. The unit should go thru a memory test. After 30 secs you should
    see a "login:" prompt

5. Login as "!root". Yes that is a "!" in front of "root". There should be
no password on a "fresh" one.

6. Type the following commands after you've logged in:

	set password <your desired password>
set address <the address you to assign it: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx>
	set namesvc dns
set nameserver <your nameserver address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx>
	set domain <your domain name>
set netmask <your netmask: default is 255.255.255.0>
	save all
	reset all

7. Connect an ethernet cable from your network to the unit. Dip switch
5 and 6 up indicated Twisted Pair, both down for COAX.

8. The unit should be pingable and telnettable now.

9. Get PMCONSOLE/PMVISION from www.livingston.com to further configure.

10. Download the PM2 manuals from Livingston (http://www.livingston.com)
     or AMS, Inc (http://www.portmasters.com)
