_______________ Limitations

The following is a list of known limitations of PMWizard 1.0:

* The ChoiceNet and RADIUS secrets are not saved in the backup file.

* The system name is not read by PMWizard unless SNMP is turned on.

_______________ System Requirements

PMWizard is a Java-based product that can run on any system with Java
Development Kit (JDK) or Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.1.4 or later
installed. Nondevelopers can use the JRE rather than the JDK.
Currently, JDK 1.1 and JRE 1.1 are available for the following
platforms:

Windows NT 4.0 http://www.javasoft.com/products/jdk/1.1/
Windows 95 http://www.javasoft.com/products/jdk/1.1/
Solaris 2.5.1 http://www.javasoft.com/products/jdk/1.1/
Solaris x86 2.5.1	http://www.javasoft.com/products/jdk/1.1/
Linux 2.x ftp://lagrange.la.asu.edu/pub/Linux_jdk/
FreeBSD http://www.freebsd.org/java/
SGI IRIX 6.3 http://www.sgi.com/developers/devtools/
HP-UX 10.02 http://www.hp.com/esy/go/java.html
Alpha Digital UNIX 4.0	http://www.digital.com/java/download/
IBM AIX 4.1 http://www.ibm.com/java/tools/jdk.html
Macintosh http://developer.apple.com/java/
Other Platforms http://java.sun.com/cgi-bin/java-ports.cgi

The minimum Java Virtual Machine (JVM) required for the Macintosh
platform is MRJ 2.1ea3.

_______________ Installing PMWizard

1. Download the following file from the Lucent Remote Access FTP site as
   follows:

   ftp ftp.livingston.com
   (Enter "anonymous".)
(Enter your email address. It will not echo.)
   binary
   cd pub/le/software/java

 * For Solaris (other than x86), enter
   get pmwizard10_solaris.tar

 * For other UNIX systems, enter
   get pmwizard10_unix.tar

 * For Windows, enter
   get pmwizard10.zip

 * For Macintosh, enter
   get pmwizard10.sit

   quit

Alternatively, a web based installation is now available from:

   http://www.livingston.com/download/pmwizard10/install.htm

This web-based installation provides installers for Windows (with
and without a JVM), Solaris (with and without JVM), Macintosh, OS/2,
   UNIX and other platforms.

2. For UNIX systems, define the path for the jre/bin in your .cshrc file.
For example, if you install the JRE in the /usr/local/lib directory,
the .cshrc file must have the following entry:

   set path=( /usr/local/lib/jre1.1.4/bin $path )

If the JDK is installed, change the pmwizard script to use the java
   command instead of jre.

3. Run the installation.

 * For Solaris (other than x86), enter the following commands:

   tar xvf pmwizard10_solaris.tar
   ./pmwizard_install.bin

 * For other UNIX systems, enter the following commands (you can use
any directory you prefer instead of /usr/local/lucent):

   mkdir /usr/local/lucent
   mkdir /usr/local/lucent/pmwizard
   mv pmwizard10_unix.tar /usr/local/lucent/pmwizard
   cd /usr/local/lucent/pmwizard
   tar xvf pmwizard10_unix.tar
   rm pmwizard10_unix.tar

 * For Windows, unzip the pmwizard10.zip file, run the
pmwizard_install.exe program, and follow its instructions.

 * For Macintosh, unstuff the pmwizard10.sit file, run the
installation program, and follow its instructions.

_______________ Removing PMWizard

On a Solaris, Windows, or Macintosh system, an application called
Uninstall_PMWizard is placed in the Lucent/PMWizard directory. Run
this application to remove PMWizard from your system.

On Solaris, if the local jre directory still exists after you run
Uninstall_PMVision, remove the directory with the command "rm -rf jre".

On other UNIX systems, remove the shell script and jar files to remove
PMWizard from your system.

_______________ Running PMWizard

* On a Windows system, select the PMWizard icon from the Lucent folder
  in your Start, Programs Menu.

* On UNIX systems, run PMWizard by typing "pmwizard" from the PMWizard
installation directory. If you add the PMWizard installation directory
to your PATH, then you can run pmwizard from anywhere.

* On a Macintosh system, select the PMWizard icon from the Apple menu.
