PMconsole version 3.5.1.4 for Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0

FEATURES

PortMaster 3 Integrated Access Server support

PMconsole for Windows version 3.5.1.4 supports configuration of
the PortMaster(TM) 3 Integrated Access Server. PMconsole
for Windows version 1.1 cannot be used with the PortMaster 3.

ComOS 3.5 support

PMconsole 3.5.1.4 must be used to configure the ComOS 3.5
on the PortMaster 2, PortMaster 25, IRX, and Office Router.

Console Port

PMConsole now displays the console port (C0) for PM-2i

PMconsole supports new features

    1.	See ComOS release notes for more information on these features,
which can now be configured with PMconsole release 3.5.1.4. Some
of these features may not be available in some versions of
ComOS. PMconsole release 3.5.1.4 can also be used to configure
	previous releases of ComOS.

    2.	PAP, CHAP, and Serial Admin can now be enabled or disabled
	in the global settings.

    3.	5ESS-PTP and various new ISDN switch types are supported.

    4.	On dial-in ports, maximum idle time can now be set in minutes
	or seconds.

    5.	On synchronous ports, Annex-D LMI may now be set for Frame Relay.

    6.	In the User Table, maximum ports, session timeouts, and idle
timeouts can be set. Idle timeouts can be specified in minutes
	or seconds.

    7.	For ISDN calls, the phone number, username, and password can be
specified for a dial out location, to make it easier for the
PortMaster to authenticate itself using PAP or CHAP when
dialing out to other sites. CHAP can be enabled or disabled in
	the Location Table.

    8.	Multilink and Voice in the Location Table are now supported.

    9.	ComOS 3.5 supports variable length subnet masks (VLSM), so
PMconsole 3.5.1.4 allows you to specify VLSM-style routes.
For example, to specify that only hosts 192.168.4.1 through
192.168.4.30 should be routed through 192.168.4.1, you can now
        use the route:

	192.168.4.0/27 192.168.4.1 1

PMutilities

The following PMutilities are included in the PMconsole for Windows
version 3.5.1.4:

pmdumpfilter

pmdumpfilter displays the contents of all filters that reside on the
PortMaster. To use pmdumpfilter, specify the following:

	pmdumpfilter <PortMaster_Name> <Password>

You can redirect the output into a file as follows:

	pmdumpfilter >PortMaster_Name> <Password> > <File>

pmcommand

pmcommand displays the output of the PortMaster commands. This
utility can also be used to upload the contents of pmdumpfilter
    file back to the PortMaster.

        pmcommand <PortMaster_Name> <Password> <Command_File>

pmreset

pmreset resets the PortMaster's port remotely.

        pmreset <PortMaster_Name> <Password> <Port_Name>

pmdial

pmdial performs the outbound dialing function of the PortMaster.

        pmdial <PortMaster_Name> <Password> <Location_Name>

pmreadpass

pmreadpass converts information from the local user table into
    RADIUS user profile

	pmreadpass <PortMaster_Name> <Password> <outputname>

The output file will have a format of the RADIUS users file.

NOTE: Special characters such as "*, ?, >", etc., cannot be used
in the password strings as DOS will be able to recognite them.

BUGS FIXED

The following problems have been fixed in PMconsole for Windows
version 3.5.1:

1. The port's login message window is now on a white background.
In version 3.5, the port's login message window was on a black
background, preventing users from writing messages on the window.

2. When closing a main window before closing the port, PMconsole
crashed. This problem was caused by a child process that was still
running when the parent process no longer existed.

3. The route entries in the routing table now accept VLSM. In the
previous release, it did not accept VLSM even when used in conjunction
   with ComOS 3.5.

The following problem has been fixed in PMconsole for Windows version
3.5.1.1:

1. PMconsole version 3.5.1 crashed when used in conjunction with
   the PortMaster running ComOS 3.3.3

The following problem has been fixed in PMconsole for Windows version
3.5.1.2:

1. Specifying a 26 bit netmask for a route in the routing table caused
the PortMaster to crash. This problem has been fixed.

The following problem has been fixed in PMconsole for Windows version
3.5.1.3:

1. When the user table is generated, the fields that reflect user type,
address, netmask and RIP were only filled in for the first 20 users.
The fields for the remaining 50 users displayed blank. If one of the
"blank field" users was selected, the information displayed in the
   lower fields of that window.

If a LOGIN user specified a telnet service, the lower fields was not
reflect the fact that TELNET has been selected -- it indicated
PORTMASTER, which is just the first option in that drop
   down list.

The above problem has been fixed.

The following problem has been fixed in PMconsole for Windows version
3.5.1.4:

1. The Table Filter can now be edited when used in conjunction with
ComOS 3.5 for PM-2, PM-25, IRXs, and ORs.

2. The Max Ports now displays the correct setting.
