Eligible Equipment
- All competitive products submitted for Option 1 must include a minimum of 48 ports and a working modem for every port.
- PortMaster® 2 products submitted for Option 1 can consist of any number of ports and a working modem or terminal adapter for every port.

- Ascend MAX 40XX (any model)
- U.S. Robotics Total Control Hub
- Cisco AS5100/AS5200 Series
- Computone PowerRack or IntelliServer
- Xylogics Annex/Remote Annex
- Telebit NetBlazer or MicaBlazer
- We will take any other competitive InterNetworking Systems equipment currently in use as well.

How It Works
- Purchase a PortMaster 3 with 48 or 50 K56flexTM modems from any Lucent authorized reseller by October 31, 1997 and retain the invoice for this purchase. Lucent
- Complete the Option 1 Trade Up Authorization Form to qualify. Your confirmation, authorization number, and shipping instructions will be mailed to you.
- Install your new PortMaster 3.
- De-install the existing communication server eligible for Option 1 Trade Up.
- Package the de-installed equipment with your original, paid in full PortMaster 3 invoice (copies not accepted).
- Follow the shipping instructions (detailed below) and send the product directly to . Lucent must receive all Option 1 equipment and PortMaster 3s being considered for rebate must be paid in full by December 31, 1997.
- A rebate check for all qualifying Option 1 Trade Up equipment will be sent within 60 days of receipt of paperwork and equipment (as long as PortMaster 3 has been paid in full by December 31, 1997).

Option 1 Program Rules
- Offer applies to all products purchased between August 1, 1997 and October 31, 1997*.
- Offer applies to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the U.S. and Canada only.
- Offer applies to the purchase of a new PortMaster 3A-2T with a minimum of 48 modems.
- This offer is intended for customers deploying PortMaster 3s. Customers reselling PortMaster 3s are not eligible for rebate. Option 1 may only be applied to units purchased from or its authorized resellers.
- Only one Option 1 Trade Up unit may be applied to the purchase of a single PortMaster 3A-2T with 48 modems, but there is no limit to the number of one-for-one Option 1 Trade Ups allowed for the duration of the program.
- Each PortMaster 3 purchased may be rebated up to a maximum of $4,832 -- the difference between the $16,831 (U.S.) ISP price for one PM-3A-2T with four MDM-56K-10 modem cards, and one MDM-56K-8 modem card, and the $11,999 Trade Up Program price. If the invoice is for less than $16,831, Lucent will rebate the difference between that number and $11,999. Charges other than Lucent equipment charges, such as shipping and tax, will not be rebated.
- Lucent will pay rebate(s) once trade-in equipment and original invoice(s) has been received and has verified that PortMaster 3s have been paid in full. PortMaster 3s being considered for rebate must be paid in full by December 31, 1997.
- All returned Option 1 Trade Up equipment will become the property of .
- All returned Option 1 Trade Up equipment must be in working order and include working modems or terminal adapters for every port.
- All Option 1 Trade Up equipment must be received no later than December 31, 1997.
- All costs associated with de-installing and shipping the Option 1 Trade Up equipment will be the responsibility of the customer.
- All Trade Up equipment sent to Lucent will be tested for compliance with the Program Rules.
Option 1 Shipping Instructions
- Before sending Lucent your trade-in equipment, you must have submitted a completed Authorization Form and have been provided an authorization number by Lucent. Your unique authorization number will be provided to you by mail.
- After deinstalling your existing communication server and modem equipment eligible for Option 1, pack it with your PortMaster 3 original invoice (copies not accepted) in a shipping box. Place the Lucent-provided address label on your shipping box. If you have more than one box to ship (e.g., for modems, terminal adapters, or additional communication servers), clearly mark your authorization number on the outside of each box.
