When Livingston Enterprises opened the doors of its headquarters for Europe, the
Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) on the Cote d'Azur last September, the event prompted
the French press to announce, "The Americans Are Returning!" Livingston's
new office is located in the Mougin area of Sophia-Antipolis--a techno-park whose
warm and sunny climate attracts networking experts from across Europe. So it was
no surprise that Jürgen Obermann, Managing Director, EMEA, was able to quickly
put together highly skilled multi-lingual pre-sales, training, and technical support
teams to service customers across the continent.
Sales and support offices are also now established near London (UK), Hamburg (Germany),
and in Annecy near Lyons (France). Livingston sales are further augmented by a growing
number of Livingston partners and resellers who bring Livingstonís InterNetworking Systems
and network security offerings to end-users.
Telling the Livingston Story
Livingston is bringing its message of reliable, scalable InterNetworking Systems to ISPs and
corporations across Europe through an aggressive direct-mail campaign--more than
160,000 pieces in five languages--and extensive full-page advertisements in key industry
publications throughout France, Germany, the UK, and Scandinavia. In addition, during
April and May, Livingston is sponsoring a pan-European Internet security seminar
series that showcases our RADIUSTM
and ChoiceNetTM
products.
Net-Events Press Symposium in Germany
In early March, Steve Willens (Livingston's President and CEO), Jürgen Obermann
(Managing Director, EMEA), and Alex Henthorn (Senior Product Manager) attended the
three-day NetEvents Press Symposium in Garmisch, Germany, to springboard Livingstonís
introduction to the European press. Both Willens and Henthorn participated in panel
debates on Internet security and InterNetworking Systems marketing issues.
PortMaster 3 Launches in Latin America
Livingston's new benchmark product, the PortMaster 3 Integrated Access Server, was
launched in Brazil on April 9, with subsequent launches in Mexico, Chile, and Argentina.
Reception has been very positive. With the explosive growth of the Internet in Latin
America right now, this region is sure to be an exciting market for Livingston's
complete product line.
IETF RADIUS Chair Tours Pacific Rim
Carl Rigney, Chairman of the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) RADIUS Working
Group, has been very active lately as Livingston's ambassador to the Pacific Rim.
After his recent successful speaking engagements in Asia, Carl conducted a plenary
as well as two conference sessions at the APRICOT Technology Conference in Hong Kong
in January.
PortMasters in Paradise
Livingston's PortMaster
products are used not only by some of the world's largest ISPs--such as IIJ, Bekkoame
and NEC in Japan--but also by ISPs in some of the smaller and more exotic locations
around the globe. In fact, wherever the Internet goes, PortMaster products can be
found--on the tropical Pacific island of Tahiti (OPT), where America's day begins
in Guam (Pacific Data Systems), through the coffee plantations of Java (Cyberindo
Aditama, CyberTech, MegaNet and Radnet), at the foot of the Himalayas in Nepal (Mercantile
Communications), and among the beaches and mountains of Mauritius (Telecom Plus).
