		Limitations

The following is a list of the known limitations of PMWizard 1.0b1:

* The ChoiceNet and RADIUS secrets are not saved in the backup file.

* PMWizard sometimes crashes if the Connecting dialog window is
  moved around.

* The system name is not read by PMWizard unless SNMP is turned on.

* Although hypertext links in the help system work under Sun's JRE
1.1.4, they do not work under JRE 1.1.5. This bug is fixed in
  Sun's JRE 1.1.6.

		System Requirements

PMWizard is a Java-based product that can run on any system with
JDK or JRE (Java Runtime Environment) 1.1.4 or later installed.
Nondevelopers can use the JRE rather than the JDK. Currently,
JDK 1.1 and JRE 1.1 are available for the following platforms:

Windows NT 4.0 http://www.javasoft.com/products/jdk/1.1/
Windows 95 http://www.javasoft.com/products/jdk/1.1/
Solaris 2.5.1 http://www.javasoft.com/products/jdk/1.1/
Solaris x86 2.5.1	http://www.javasoft.com/products/jdk/1.1/
Linux 2.x ftp://lagrange.la.asu.edu/pub/Linux_jdk/
FreeBSD http://www.freebsd.org/java/
SGI IRIX 6.3 http://www.sgi.com/developers/devtools/
HP-UX 10.02 http://www.hp.com/esy/go/java.html
Alpha Digital UNIX 4.0	http://www.digital.com/java/download/
IBM AIX 4.1 http://www.ibm.com/java/tools/jdk.html
Macintosh http://developer.apple.com/java/
Other Platforms http://java.sun.com/cgi-bin/java-ports.cgi

The minimum Java Virtual Machine required for the Macintosh platform
is MRJ 2.1ea3.

		Installing PMWizard

1. Download the following file from the Lucent Remote Access FTP site as
   follows:

   ftp ftp.livingston.com
   (Enter "anonymous".)
(Enter your email address. It will not echo.)
   binary
   cd pub/le/software/java

 * For Solaris (other than x86), enter
   get pmwizard10b1_solaris.tar

 * For other UNIX systems, enter
   get pmwizard10b1_unix.tar

 * For Windows, enter
   get pmwizard10b1.zip

 * For Macintosh, enter
   get pmwizard10b1.sit

   quit

2. For UNIX systems, make sure the paths to the JVM are set properly.
NOTE: The Solaris and Windows installations install a JVM.

In the .cshrc file, define the path for the jre/bin.

For example, if you install the JRE in the /usr/local/lib directory,
the .cshrc file must have the following entry:

   set path=( /usr/local/lib/jre1.1.4/bin $path )

If the JDK is installed, change the pmwizard script to use the java
   command instead of jre.

3. Run the installation.

 * For Solaris, on the command line, enter the following commands:

   tar xvf pmwizard10b1_solaris.tar
   ./pmwizard_install.bin

 * For other UNIX systems, on the command line, enter the following
commands (you can use any directory you prefer instead of
   /usr/local/lucent):

   mkdir /usr/local/lucent
   mkdir /usr/local/lucent/pmwizard
   cp pmwizard10b1_unix.tar /usr/local/lucent/pmwizard
   cd /usr/local/lucent/pmwizard
   tar xvf pmwizard10b1_unix.tar
   rm pmwizard10b1_unix.tar

 * For Windows, unzip the pmwizard10b1.zip file and run the
   pmwizard_install.exe program.

 * For Macintosh, unstuff the pmwizard10b1.sit file and place the
Lucent/PMWizard folder into your Applications folder.
