Hello,
Welcome to the SimCity demo for UNIX. To install, create a directory
where you want to put the game and copy the files to it. For example,
if you want to use /usr/local/SimCity as the home directory then do the
following:

   mkdir /usr/local/SimCity
   cd cdromdirthatholdsSimCity
   tar cf - . | (cd /usr/local/SimCity; tar xf -)

Next, edit the SimCity script so that you change to the correct SimCity
directory. Then, copy the SimCity script to a location that all users
can access, i.e. /usr/local/bin. If you don't want to make it globally
accessible just leave the SimCity shell script in the SimCity directory.
However, using the later method, you must be in the SimCity directory to
run the demo.

Finally, the display that SimCity runs on must have either a psuedcolor
or staticgray visual, i.e. have a depth of either 8 bit (256 colors), or
1 bit (monochrome). Just type SimCity to run the game and determine if
your display will work. If it fails then you can either go to
Admin_Tools->Display_Setup and see if you can get a 256 color or
monochrome mode working or if you are connected to a network, use the
-display node:x.x option to connect to a proper display.

If you run into problems, please E-Mail M & W at RonnieW252@aol.com.

Thanks,

Mark Mattes
