The SRC Modula-3 distribution includes the archives listed below. Each is a compressed tar file containing the sources for one or more libraries or programs.

You must build and install libm3 to have a useful system, but all the other pieces are optional. Some archives require others. In those cases, there is a top-level README file in the archive explaining its dependencies.
The m3utils, compiler, and m3cc archives contain the sources used to bootstrap SRC Modula-3. The boot archives contain the assembly code for those programs. Unless you want to look at the sources of these programs, you won't need to install the m3utils, compiler, or m3cc archives.
