Installation instructions for I-modem flash code rev. 2.1.4

IE020104.ZIP is a ZIP archive containing the flash code for all
domestic external I-modem models. Extract the distribution files
into an empty sub directory.

There is a batch file called "GOEXT.BAT" that will execute all
the necessary commands for the DOS-based flash utility (PCSDL.EXE).
The actual flash code is contained within the .NAC and .SDL files.

GOEXT.BAT needs to be executed the COM port as the only parameter
from the subdirectory you extracted the files to. For example:

If your I-modem is on COM1: execute:

GOEXT 1

If your I-modem is on COM2: execute:

GOEXT 2

You will see it establish communication and begin the flash process.
The process should take approximately 5 minutes. Configured items
such as SPIDs and DNs should be retained (ie. not overwritten).

IMPORTANT NOTE!

Many times new code will change the memory locations used by various
registers. BE SURE TO GO INTO A TERMINAL PROGRAM AND ENTER THE
FOLLOWING COMMAND!:

AT&F1*P=0S67=0S68=1S69=0&W

This will restore the factory default template, set S67 to 0 and write
these changes to NVRAM. It will also enable the enhanced auto select and
Turbo PPP features (S68). You may want to make a screen print of your
current settings first (ATI4).

USING NON-STANDARD IRQ ON YOUR COM PORT

The standard IRQ for a COM Port is as follows:

COM1: AND COM3: IRQ4
COM2: AND COM4: IRQ3

If you are using any other IRQ than the standards noted above, you must
manually inform PCSDL of the non-standard IRQ through the "-i" parameter.
For example, for rev 2.1.4, if the I-modem is on COM3, IRQ5 the PCSDL
command line within GOEXT.BAT should be:

PCSDL -p3 -i5 -r57600 -vNA2.1.4 -vSD2.1.4 -nNAie -nSDie
