Workaround to allow Domain Users access to Send Fax on Windows XP.

This procedure was written for Windows XP systems as a workaround. In XP, print capture does not work correctly for domain users. With the steps detailed in this document, changes can be made to the Fax Finder Printer driver to allow Domain users to send faxes with the FaxFinder.

Logon to the system where the FaxFinder is installed as a Domain user.

Open Windows Explorer and browse to the following directory:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\2\

This directory contains a file named "BiCiniNT.ini" . By default this file is read only. To remove the read only attribute:

Right click on the file

Select properties

Uncheck the read only option,

Click OK.

Open the file with a text editor ( notepad or wordpad).

Search for the line [UI Tabs Settings]

Change the line Display File Format Tab=0 to:

Display File Format Tab=1

Note: Be sure that no other line of the file is changed.

Save the file.

Click on Start, then Settings, then Control Panel, then printers and Faxes .

Right click on the "Multi-Tech FaxFinder" printer.

Select properties from the drop menu.

Click on the Printing Preferences push button.

Change the settings to match the following screens.

Apply the changes.

This will allow a Domain user to send faxes with the FaxFinder.
