Obtain the MultiCommManager software. Current release is always available in the Service and Support area of www.multitech.com. Current MCM Software: 7.20 (filename MCM720.EXE) 3. Upgrade your MR4800E controller's firmare. First, FTP the firmware file up to the MR4800E controller. 4. Telnet into the MR4800E controller. Change to the directory that you FTP'd the firmware file. Type 'UPDATE REL501.HXC'. The controller will begin updating. 5. The controller will ask you if you want to Reboot. Answer YES. Rebooting the controller *will not* disconnect users currently connectd to your modems. 6. Install the MultiCommManager software on your Supervisor PC. Install the MCM software to a fresh directory (not to an existing directory where a previous version of MultiModemManager software may be installed). 7. Open up the MCM Explorer window. Highlight 'Physical View'. 8. You now need to create the IP site that is your MR4800E Controller and rack. Click on the 'Add' button at the bottom of the MCM Explorer window. Enter the IP address of the MR4800E as well as a unique name. Use the first three letters of the Long Name for the Short Name. Click OK. 9. Double-Click on Physical View. You should see your Long Name site with a green 'IP' to the left of it. If the 'IP' is gray you will want to double-check your IP settings. Also make sure the Read and Write Community settings match how they are set on the MR4800E Controller. Installation is complete. You should now be able to click on the 'IP' site you just created and see your modems within the 'IP' site tree.
