Support for our 56k modems added. The selection is MultiTech Multimodem
56K Series.
***************************************************************************

This zip file should contain:

	Readme.txt
	Modem.inf
	Modem.dgi

The modem.inf included in WINNT35.zip can be used as a complete replacement
for the modem.inf used in a Windows NT 3.5/3.51 Server or Workstation.
It can also replace the modem.inf in Windows For Workgroups. To use file
you should rename(I use modemold.inf) your current modem.inf, as a backup.

The first step is to remove all Multi-Tech modems from RAS.Add a NON Multitech
modem (AT&T, Hayes....) on the first port. Then restart your system.

The second step is to copy the new file as modem.inf in the same directory
where modem.inf was. The full path is c:\winnt35\system32\ras

After copying in the file you should go through the configuration process
for RAS. In NT this will be done through the Network Icon in Control Panel,
then use the config button with Remote Access Server highlighted.

In WFW you can set everything up with the Remote Access Icon in the Network
Group. You use the CONFIGURE selection under the SETUP pull down menu.
You will also need to edit the calls, use the advanced button, then the
modem button. You use this to set the error correction/flow control and
compression.

		********IMPORTANT INFORMATION*********

If you use error correction make sure you use it at both ends, it will not
work if you use it only at one end.

The port settings of 14400 and 28800 will not work with MultiTech Modems.
You can use port settings that are faster than the modem speed.

Using Hardware Flow Control is recommended.

Using Modem Error Correction is recommended, if can it be used at both ends.

Using Modem Compression is NOT recommended.

If you have troubles calling into a RAS server, try using the Enter Modem
Commands Manually option, in the modem setup. Press the DONE button after
the connect message shows up. This will work if you have error correction
at the server and not at the client.

For 932EAB modems you need to move the DSR jumper inside the modem.
The jumper should not be in the box.
You must use the EAB selection also, the 932BA will not work.

There have be some problems with the MT2834MR modems runnig on Digi Boards. The
Board I know we are having trouble with is the Digi XEM board. But I have seen
the same trouble with other Digi boards with the EXTERNAL CONCENTRATOR. The
Trouble you may see is DTR togle on then off or When a call is placed into the
modem DTR togles and the call never gets answerd. If you see this happening
rename the modem.dgi to modem.inf and select the MT2834 selection. All This does
is set the port speed to 38400. To get the new setting to take affect you have to
remove the ports from RAS and then Reinstall them.
