Installation instructions for MultiVOIP 3000/3010 software vs 4.11.26 MultiVOIP's Uninstall Solution Product Update PN: 82010180 Rev. A 02/16/04 Before uninstalling any old versions of MultiVOIP software, install the new MultiVOIP Software provided for this readme. 1. Run "MultiVOIP configuration" from your old version of MultiVOIP software and take note of the current settings, Inbound and Outbound phone book entries. Also make note of the version number of your old MultiVOIP software (4.02, 4.02a, 402b, etc) for use in step 9. If you are currently using 4.03 or greater, your phone book will not have to be rebuilt. Check the amount of SDRAM in the System Info menu, it will be listed in the Hardware ID field. Note: The MVP3010 hardware must have 32MB SDRAM to support the v4.11.26 firmware. 2. Run mvp41126.exe to unzip the install files. The install files will be unzipped to the directory C:\3k411 3. Go to the folder C:\3k411\disk1 and run setup.exe to install the software to the pc. Accept the default installation folder and program group name. When prompted, select the comm. port that you will use with the MultiVOIP. Click "No" when asked if you would like to run configuration. 4. Connect the MVP3010 to the PC comm. port and power it on. When the boot light is off, go to step 5. Note: If you will be upgrading the voip via FTP, go to step 13. 5. If your old version of MultiVOIP software is 4.02A or higher, skip to step 7. 6. Run Start->Programs->MultiVOIP 3010 4.11->Download Firmware. In the search window, enter *.UPG and click OK. Select the file BOOT.UPG. It will only take a few seconds to load this file. After a few moments, a dialog box will pop up prompting you to upgrade software. Close this dialog box. 7. Run Start->Programs->MultiVOIP 3010 4.11->Upgrade Software. The voip will respond with "upgrade will reboot the multivoip" Click OK. Next you will be prompted with a choice to retain the current settings or download factory defaults. Select the appropriate option and then click OK. The firmware will take a few minutes to load. When the boot light goes out, the firmware loading has finished. 8. If you are using CAS signaling (instead of PRI), Run Start-> Programs->MultiVOIP 3010 4.11->Download CAS Protocol. The message "MultiVOIP 2410 is up. Reboot to download CAS protocol" will be displayed. Click "Ok". Several files will be displayed. Select all of the FXS, FXO, and E&M CAS protocol files by holding down the ctrl key and clicking each file. Click the "Open" button and the CAS protocol files will be loaded into the MultiVOIP. 9. Run Start->Programs->MultiVOIP 3010 4.11->Configuration and configure the MultiVOIP for your application. Save and reboot when configuration is complete. If you chose retain current settings in step 7, you should only have to review your settings. 10. If you have 2 cards installed in your MVP3010 chassis (60 channels), move the pc comm port cable to the second card and repeat steps 5 - 12. 11. Uninstall your old version of MultiVOIP software by selecting the "Uninstall" option from the program group. 12. The upgrade is complete. Note: You will be able to manage and configure the voip with WEB interface using a Java plug in for the browser. 13. MVP3000/3010 FTP upgrade instructions. New Hardware (Rev H+) - Use the "mvpt1859.bin" file to download firmware and "mvpt1859ftp.bin" for FTP downloading. Old Hardware (Rev G and previous) - Use the "mvpt1.bin" file to download firmware and "mvpt1ftp.bin" for FTP downloading. Note that a smooth file is needed when upgrading from v4.09.0A. 1. Determine the version of firmware which is currently running on your MultiVoIP. This can be obtained by looking under configuration/system information, via the GUI or WEB/Java. 2a. If version x.04 or earlier, you must first upgrade to v4.09.0A before upgrading to v4.11.26. Please download the ftp://ftp.multitech.com/multivoip/mvp4090a.exe file and follow the instructions in this file for upgrading to v4.09.0A. Once the upgrade to v4.09.0A is complete continue to step 3a. Or 3a. If version x.05 through x.09, ftp the file "mvpt1ftp.bin" from C:\mvp411\smooth file for ftp upgrade. 3b. Then ftp file "mvpt1ftp.bin" from C:\Program Files\Multi-Tech Systems\MultiVOIP 3010 4.11. 3c. WEB/Java to the MultiVoIP and check configuration/system information and confirm firmware version as 4.11.26. Note: The firmware version may display as 4.07.26 or 4.09.26 instead of 4.11.26 when FTP is performed, this is OK, ".26" is the identifier. 14. The upgrade is complete. Note: You will be able to manage and configure the voip with WEB interface using a Java plug in for the browser.
