UPGRADE FIRMWARE:
-----------------

******************************************************************************************
WARNING: 
If you are currently running firmware version 1.00, you MUST follow these steps when upgrading firmware:

1) unzip the firmware bin file into the C:\ or D:\ or E:\ root directory on your local hard drive (this is MUST)
2) if the bin file name is too long, you MUST rename the bin file to use less than 10 characters.   The complete path name and file name combine can NOT exceed 10 characters.
3) you MUST have step 1 and 2 in place before you can perform firmware upgrade.

1. Bring up the browser and enter the IP address of the RouteFinder (ie http://192.168.2.1)
2. login as admin and enter the admin password (default password is admin)
3. click on Save & Restart and then click on Restart the RouteFinder.
4. wait for the main login window to come back and then login again.
5. Click the Utilities button on the top.
6. Click the Firmware Upgrade option on the left.
7. Click the Browse button and select the firmware bin file.   See the WARNING above if you are running firmware versoin 1.00
8. Click the Upgrade button.
9) BE PATIENT, the upgrade process take minimum of 5 minutes when perform upgrade via the LAN.   It will take longer when perform upgrade remotely via the internet, this will depend on the internet link speed.
10) When upgrade is completed, the program will return to the main login screen.   If you are doing remote upgrade, you might need to retype the URL for the RouteFinder in order to get back to the main login screen.

if the firmware upgrade fail or it does not show the webadmin login page again, wait for another 5 minutes, power off and on the RouteFinder and webadmin to the Routefinder to check the version, if the version does not show the latest, then the upgrade did not go through successfully, try to perform the firmware upgrade again.

- Fixed DDNS update when switching between Async PPP link and Ethernet WAN link.
- Fixed the DHCP Server leases expiry display issue so the DHCP Server Statistics page displays the correct number of IPs used and free.
- Fixed DNS issue when using PPTP and DNS proxy is enabled on the RouteFinder.
- Fixed MAC address when it is entered in WLAN filtering in the format  “xxxxxxyyyyyy".
- Fixed when PPPoE is configured on WANLINK2, static DNS servers are not configured on the interface and “Accept DNS from Peer” is enabled, the DNS servers returned by the PPPoE server are not being used.

- Added support for PPP Dial on Demand so it brings up PPP interface upon demand. When Idle timeout is configured, then the PPP link is brought down after the idle time expires.
- Added PPP Ping Keep alive option to maintain a constant on connection for the PPP link. If the value of the Ping Keep alive is lesser than idle timeout (Dial on Demand enabled) then the ppp link never goes down. If idle time is lesser than Ping Keepalive, then after idle time the ppp link goes down
- PPP Logs has been moved from Log traces to Statistics & Logs.
- PPP Dialbackup has been changed to PPP Cellular/Analog Backup modem in Network Setup page.
- ppp dialbackup will retry for a maximum of 10 failures in getting the ip address. In case of dial on demand enabled, every retry will be on a demand. Otherwise it retries for 10 times and exits. PPP will come up again from the minute cron. 
- the failure can be for any of the following cases - chat failure, authentication failure, LCP failure, and IPCP failure. On bootup, if the wan cable is removed, on failure in obtaining the ppp ip, it retries 10 times for every 5 mins. If the wan cable is in, then the ppp is restarted from the minute cron after every 10 retries.
- resolv.conf is updated with the PPP dns ips when PPP is up. When PPP link is up we use PPP’s DNS ip, thereby the DNS resolution is faster.
- Option to configure Ethernet Interface speed through telnet mode. This command takes immediate effect and the configuration will be retained after reboot and after an upgrade.
       "set mii speed <eth0/eth1/eth2> <speed>"
- New Ethernet PHY hardware are auto-detected on bootup. 
- Added IPSec Leftnexthop. Default values set to 0.0.0.0
- Auto reboot timer option added to reboot the box after every x hours of uptime.
- SNAT configuration option to allow Specific Protocol/Service through Specific Wan link / Interface.   RF830 model only
- GUI and Help page implementation changed, to show the modules based in GUI and Help based on model number.
- Static routes are added for the DNS servers configured on WAN1 and WAN2 to make sure that the requests go out on the specific interfaces. This is however avoided when the DNS servers belong to a network satisfying either of these conditions:
a. Static route is already present for that network.
b. It falls in one of the interface networks.


Firmware Version V1.20: (Dated July 31, 2006)

- Fixed IP spoofing and DNS issues when RF830 is using dual wan load balancing
- Fixed DNAT so the source address will show the actual IP address from the internet instead of always showing the DNAT is coming from the LAN IP address of the RouteFinder

- Fixed Ipsec manual mode when using FQDN for the remote WAN address
- Fixed DHCP client on the wAN for some ISP.  Increased the MaxMsgSize to MTU value from the default of 548 bytes

New Features and Changes:

- Added IPSec pass thru support.   The option is in Packet Filters>Advanced Packet Filters page.
- Allow upto 15 active VPN tunnels
- Design Syslog to accommodate number of lines in logfile based on log message frequency for particular application.
- Added custom MTU value setting for PPPoE connection.  MTU value can be configured to a value between 1 and 1492.
- Added firmware file integrity check to prevent corruption during firmware upgrade.   Double check the firmware file before performing the actual firmware upgrade.
- Added DDNS update so when one Wan link is down, the DDNS name for both links will be updated to the active link.   This will allow load balancing when hosting servers for incoming traffics.   This apply to model RF830 only
- Added Logging facility provided in Administration webpage for PPTP, IPSec, DHCP for WAN1/WAN2, PPPoE for WAN1/WAN2, Packet Filter logs.
- Allow multiple PPTP clients to connect at the same time when they are behind a NAT router that has a single public IP address
