********
WARNING: It is NOT recommended to use the Mac to flash update the MT9234ZBA-USB-CDC or MT9234MU-CDC modems. Use Windows or Linux to flash update those models. The MT9234ZBA-USB-CDC-XR or MT9234MU-CDC-XR models are OKAY to flash update using the Mac version of Flash Wizard.

Installation Procedure

1) Download flashwizosxXXX.zip from the Multi-Tech FTP site:
   ftp://ftp.multitech.com/utilities/flashwizard/mac

2) Double-click on the .zip file to unzip the Flash Wizard folder. You may copy
the Flash Wizard application anywhere you would like. Normally on Mac OS X,
applications are located in the /Applications folder.

3) Download the appropriate firmware (.HEX file) for your Multi-Tech device
from the Multi-Tech web site (http://www.multitech.com/support.go). Copy the
.HEX file to "~/Library/Application Support/Flash Wizard" (where the ~ means
your user folder, for example "/Users/username"). If the "Flash Wizard"
folder does not yet exist, you may either make a new one or launch the
Flash Wizard application and it will create one if one does not exist. A
'Reveal' button in the Flash Wizard application will also locate the folder
for you. Once the "~/Library/Application Support/Flash Wizard" folder exists,
then you may copy the .HEX file into that folder.

Upgrade Procedure

1) Open the Flash Wizard application by double-clicking on its icon.

2) Click on the 'Start' button to begin searching for Multi-Tech devices
connected to your Mac. The Identifying Devices dialog will be displayed as
the Wizard locates and identifies the devices connected to your system.

NOTE: If the message, "ERROR: No valid devices detected" or "No devices
found" is displayed, verify that the device is powered on, and that all
cables are correctly and securely attached.

3) Once the devices have been identified, they will be displayed in the Devices
list. Click on the device to be upgraded and click 'Next' to proceed.

4) Select the appropriate .HEX file from the Hex File drop-down list. Once
satisfied with your selections, click 'Next' to continue.

5) The Progress dialog is displayed showing a status bar indicating the
   progress of your upgrade.

IMPORTANT: As noted in the dialog, any disruption of the program during this
stage of the upgrade may cause your device to be inoperable. Wait until the
flash upgrade process is complete before proceeding.

6) Once the upgrade is complete, the status bar will be full and the dialog will
display the message "Programming Complete" or "Successful". Click on the Quit
   button to exit Flash Wizard.
