**************************************************************** * MultiConnect AW Firmware/Software Release Notes * **************************************************************** Contents: 1) Models Covered By This Firmware/Software 2) Firmware Upgrade Procedure 2) Firmware/Software History 3) Support Information **************************************************** * 1 ** Models Covered By This Firmware/Software * **************************************************** MT100A2W-G-NAM (512K version only) **************************************************** * 2 ** Firmware Upgrade Procedure * **************************************************** 1) Connect the MT100A2W to a workstation communications port using the Command Port interface and a proper cable. 2) Verify the device is available using HyperTerminal, or an emulation utility like ZOC or TeraTerm, set to 115.2kbps. (If the connection is ready, after cycling power on the device, a menu will display.) 3) The firmware version is displayed in the Introduction Menu, record the version number. 4) Using your favorite web browser, go to http://www.multitech.com/en_US/SUPPORT/Updates/Firmware/ 5) Click on the down arrow and select the MultiConnect AW. 6) Look at the firmware version number. If the firmware version number matches the firmware version number in step 3, you have the current firmware version and do not need to update the firmware on your MT100A2W. 7) If the firmware version number is greater than the firmware version number in step 3, your MT100A2W has an older firmware version. Continue to download the latest firmware and the Flash Wizard utility from the Multi-Tech website. 8) Save the downloaded files in a temporary folder on your workstation. 9) Install the Flash Wizard to the workstation. 10) Extract the firmware upgrade file by double-clicking the file name. The extracted files include a .HEX file and this readme file 11) Place the .HEX firmware file in the FlashWizard Installation directory. (Default:\ProgramFiles\Multi-Tech Systems\Flash Wizard) 12) Apply power to the MT100A2W and access the unit using Hyperterminal or some other emulation utility. The "Introduction Menu" should display. 13) Select option B for performing a "Firmware Upgrade" and answer "yes" to the question "Are you sure...?". 14) Perform a "Disconnect" or close the terminal program. 15) Run "Flash Wizard" on the workstation by selecting it from the START Menu. 16) The utility should locate the MT100A2W and indicate this device after a few seconds. 17) Highlight the device found, Click "Next" 18) Select the Comm Port and the correct version of the Hex File for the MT100A2W and click "Next". 19) When "Programming" is complete, Select "Next" and verify that the Status indicates "Successful". 20) Successful -- Click "Finish" and the FlashWizard utility will close. 21) Go back to Steps 1-4 to verify that the upgrade version is displayed on the Menu(Example: IYQG021I.HEX = VERSION 0.21i). 22) Your MT100A2W has been updated.
