UPGRADE FIRMWARE:
-----------------

NOTE : DO NOT perform firmware upgrade remotely via the Cellular wireless connection 

1. Connect a local workstation to the MTCBA-x-EN via Ethernet 
2. Bring up the browser and enter the IP address of the MTCBA-x-EN (ie http://192.168.2.1)
3. login as admin and enter the admin password (default password is admin)
4. click save & restart and wait for the login screen and then login again
5. Click the Tools button on the top.
6. Click the Firmware Upgrade option on the left.
7. Click the Browse button and select the firmware bin file.   Make sure you use the correct BIN file, otherwise your MTCBA-x-EN can become inoperable.
8. Click the Upgrade button.
9) BE PATIENT, the upgrade process will take minimum of 3 minutes. 
10) When upgrade is completed, the program will return to the main login screen.

- Fixed wizard setup so it allows none alpha numeric characters for username and password.
- Fixed webadmin username and password so it allows none alpha numeric characters to be configured.

New Features and Changes:

- Support TCP connection keep alive.   When initiating a TCP connection for keep alive, the timeout is fixed at 90 seconds, if the TCP connection does not reply back in 90 seconds, it will consider TCP connect failure and it will drop and restart the PPP link.
- Added a new option in the webadmin UI to disable telnet access.   the new option is available in IP Setup --> General Configuration.
- Added APN setup option in the PPP setup screen for GSM modem only.
- Allow external application to query modem information based on AT commands that are configured.   Application can access URL http://192.168.2.1/modeminfor.html to get the IP address that is currently assigned to the wireless modem after PPP connection is established and it also show the results of all the AT commands that are configured.   The AT commands setup is in the webadmin PPP --> Modem Commands setup page.  The AT commands configured will be sent everytime it initiates a PPP connection to the network.   Here are some AT commands that can be useful for management purposes, refer to AT command guide for more details:

AT+CGSN
AT+CGMR
AT+CNUM
AT+COPS?
AT+CREG?
AT+CSQ

You can also retrieve the modem information without using a browser:
- make a TCP connection to port 80 (same as the webadmin port) and send data as:

GET /atinfor.html HTTP/1.1  

follow by two <CR>


Firmware Version V1.18: (Dated Sep 28, 2007)

- Fixed ATM machine DHCP client not able to get ip address from DHCP server.   Fixed DHCP Server so it send NAK to 255.255.255.255. Then, the client sends DISCOVER packet and server sends OFFER to unicast IP and client acquires IP from the server.

- Fixed DHCP Server issue when any DHCP client sends a DHCP Discover packet with the Unicast flag set.
- Fixed the default DHCP IP address range setup problem.   When the default range is deleted and save-oem-defaults command is issued and NAT Router is rebooted, the default DHCP IP Address 192.68.2.100 - 192.68.2.200 is still present in the webadmin.
- Fixed the default packet filter rule problem.  When the default packet filter rule LAN Any Any ACCEPT is deleted and the save-oem-defaults command is issued and NAT Router is rebooted. the default filter rule still present in the webadmin.
- Fixed DNS update issue when PPP link is obtaining different DNS address after it connects.   DNS address should always show the latest address that is obtains by the current PPP connection.   This will allow the DHCP client to obtain the latest DNS settings in order to resolve hostname.


New Features and Changes:

- Added Autodialout hardware reset modem so whenever this feature is enabled, for every autodialout session that terminates, the internal modem is hardware reset.  This feature must be enabled via command only, the command Added to support this feature is:
   # set ip auto-dialout-resetmodem <enable/disable>



Firmware Version V1.14: (Dated September 26, 2006)

Bug Fixes:

- Allow PPP username and password to be blank
- Fixed PPP Link Establishment problem relating to DNS during PPP nogotiation
- Fixed SNTP Client bug for getting current time and date after PPP connection is established
- Fixed DHCP server problem when a DHCP Client repeatedly request for the ip address without releasing the old acquired ip.
- Fixed telnet to port 5000 message "logged in successfully" was not displayed consistently    


New Features and Changes:

- Added more detail debugging messages during PPP negotiations for syslog.   This is use for trouble shooting in case PPP can not connect to the ISP
- Added command to allow configure Telnet administration port.  command syntax : "set ip telnet-port <port>"
- Added support so NAT can be disabled.   PPP and ethernet ports can be setup to perform standard static routing
- Added AT command to be sent out during the bootup.   This command can be use to unlock SIM security code
- Added support for Wake up based on any calls, Caller ID or SMS.   This is use to wake up the ethernet modem remotely
- Added support for Wake up where local LAN can not trigger the wireless connection
- Added hardware modem reset if AT command does not response
- Changed DNAT so the source ip show internet public IP instead of LAN IP of the ethernet modem
- Added more PPP traces message display in the Webadmin Statistics & log display
- Added GRE tunneling support
- Added support for customize differnet factory default values.  Use the comamnd "save-oem-defaults" to save all the settings as factory default.   Use command "delete-oem-defaults" to remove all the custom settings as factory default
- Added Verizion specific model so PPP will always set to CHAP only and this setting can not be changed
- Added security check during firmware upgrade so wrong firmware can not cause the ethernet modem to become inoperable
- Added Auto reboot based on a timer setting.
