FaxFinder Client Version 1.06.08
-----------------------------------------------------------------
This is a maintenance revision of the FaxFinder Client
software.
New
Features and Changes
- Check the Multi-Tech Website for current documentation
describing new features.
- Added Fax Header Local ID to File | Options Identification
tab. This field can be used to set the Local ID in the Fax
header for SendFax. You can set it to your fax back number,
Phone number, or the default which is the Fax ID in the Modem
Configuration settings on the FaxFinder Server.
- Uses the phone number and or fax number (as set above) to
go along with the send fax, for the fax header.
- Changed the right-click mouse button to show the menu when
clicked on the client in the system tray.
- The address book database file was renamed from
database.pst to database.bin, because Outlook database files are named
.pst. We also suspect that Microsoft updates may be deleting
the .pst file.
- On first startup of the Client software if the File |
Options Identification tab is not filled in, the user is prompted to
add this information.
- We made some changes to the SendFax Dialog to make it
easier to use.
- Added the BoldComplete2.cpg cover page which added the From
Phone Number and From Fax fields. New cover pages will be
automatically copied into the user's application data directory [drive]:\Documents
and Settings\[userid]\Application Data\FaxFinder
Client Software\Cover Pages.
- The # character was added in the list of allowable
characters of a phone number in the Address Book Contact dialog.
- The Address Book menu was added with Add Contact
(duplicated in Edit | Add Contact); Import and Export. Import
and Export are used to import/export the Address Book as a delimited
file. You may Export the Address Book as comma, semi-colon,
colon, or a tab delimited csv file. You may Import a
delimited file into the address book. The import process will
not check for or update duplicate entries. The best
method for use is to create an address book that has all the desired
entries; export it from the database software it is in; and then import
it into an empty Address Book. When importing, you can create
an Import template to define field mapping to the Client Address Book,
or if Importing from Outlook, use the installed template
Outlook_addressbook_template for comma delimited import of an Outlook
generated comma delimited file.
Bug
Fixes
- Only the first page of multiple page tiff files was being
sent.
- Fixed a problem where a semicolon in a file name passed to
the client by the print driver caused the client to incorrectly list
the file name in the documents list and raise an exception when trying
to send the fax.
- The BoldComplete cover page had default fonts which caused
text to be truncated. Note: the updated cover page
will be copied into the Install directory [drive]:\Documents
and Settings\[userid]\Application Data\FaxFinder
Client Software\Cover Pages. If the BoldComplete.cpg file was
updated, It can be edited in the Cover Page Editor to make the changes
to the font sizes, and saved as a new name.
- Added a right click menu for the tray icon to make it
similar to most tray icons.
- The print driver is now installed under the port name of
FFPortCR instead of IcePortCR to avoid conflicts with other products
utilizing the Black Ice print drivers.
-
